A certain portion of capacity may be used for system file and maintenance use, so the actual capacity may differ from what is indicated on the product label. Level up Performance

The 970 EVO Plus can reach sequential read/write speeds up to 3,500/3,300 MB/s2, up to 53%3 faster than the 970 EVO. Samsung’s latest V-NAND—which brings greater NAND performance and higher power efficiency—along with optimized firmware, a proven in-house controller, and Intelligent TurboWrite boost speeds.

I just bought this drive, and as I was on Dell Inspiron 7373 laptop with just the one slot, installed the new drive into a USB adapter in preparation for migration and connected it to the USB port. Samsung Migration wouldn't recognize the drive in the USB enclosure. Had to buy and use a third-party migration tool to perform the job. Windows did recognize that there was a SAMSUNG disk in the enclosure, but the migration tool didn't. Did not have this issue earlier with a Crucial disk, though, using a similar setup, using Crucial Migration software. Please review your Migration software. Thanks (hence the 4-stars).

Had this SSD for a few years now and it died with the recent firmware issues. Do not get this SSD it is cheap but you will lose all your files.

Died few years later, wont recommend Samsung SSDs anymore. The a batch of 9xx series have firmware issues from factory, the average joe isnt going to know they need update the firmware and use it. Google Samsung ssd firmware issue and just get another SSD brand.

I bought this due to the cashback offer promotion. During the online cashback claim,Samsung system marked the serial number as invalid. After reading a few forum, numerous people are having the same issue,some got resolved some didnt. I send an email to Samsung promos and have not heard anything back yet. To me this is like false advertisement.

The reason is because this M2 is type TLC based memory, for the next time evaluate buy a M2 on MLC or SLC type based memory
