It can withstand all my every day hazards that can be thrown its way. This includes everything from the dust and lint from my pocket to an unexpected water event such as rain. The exterior paint finish can even resist the scratches from being on my key ring. The storage space and transfer performance are everything you can expect from a 3.0 usb flash drive. It gives people like a piece of mind not to have to transfer every file through a cloud service. This is a great product that I hope Samsung continues to develop.

I can use it for so many different things like saving my work files, to personal pictures and videos. I always have it on the go for everything I need since I'm always doing new projects and work. I can keep everything organized and easily transfer files from one computer to another. I used to buy 6GB flash drives and I'd always get so frustrated because they never lasted long or I constantly had to override them and save files elsewhere. It was annoying trying to figure out what other 6GB flash drive had the files I needed. This flashdrive is a lifesaver.

I've been shopping around for new thumb sticks for a few months. All of mine are old, slow, and low capacity. Enter: THIS! First off, let me say that this memory stick is small. However, the build quality is fantastic. The exterior is metal which I wasn't expecting. Secondly, let me say that the speeds are soooooo much faster than the memory stick I've got. It performs 10x (sometimes more) than what I have. The third and final thing that makes me happy about my purchase is the warranty. I can't speak for others but knowing I've got a 5 year warranty completely solidified this deal. I am a very happy customer.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this a couple years ago and the flexibility of being able to use USB a or USB c makes for the perfect companion when transferring files from my phone to the computer or from my phone to a friend's phone. Nowadays a lot of flagship phones don't have the micro SD card slot and as sad as that may be the ability to still use expandable storage externally makes up for it. From taking photos and videos in the summer and transferring them out of my phone to save space to being able to upload those photos and videos quickly onto my computer this has never let me down. I've even recommended others to get this since it's no regular USB storage device. It's a leap in tech that we didn't know we wanted until it arrived!

I was looking for a flash drive compatible with my smart TV so I can pause live antenna TV. The problem is, the TV operates on USB 2.0. This Samsung flash drive is backwards compatible to 2.0, and I was hoping it would do the job. It's a Roku 50" 4K UHD TV, that requires a USB 2.0 16GB 15mbps read/write speed. This flash drive I like, it seems to be good quality, but it's just not quite fast enough on 2.0. It works but the video gets out of sync with the audio. I have to keep switching the TV to another channel and back to get it back in sync.

I am used to the cheap plastic feel of other brands but the Samsung Bar Plus is solid and doesnt feel like it will break or fall apart if dropped. I like that it is also waterproof and I found out that it really is after my drink fell over on my pants. This Drive in particular is solid in its weight, which is totally fine to me, cause at least I know it is made well and can take a beating. I have personally dropped my drive in water, and put it through the ringer multiple times, and it still has yet to fail me. I am tech-savvy, so I know that the advertised speeds will only run in the best scenarios with compatible devices or hardware. If you want a trustworthy drive, look no further. I use this for school and have another one I use to load operating systems on computers that are in constant use. All I can say is, in my experience, Samsung storage devices have yet to fail me.

I purchased over 80 different sets of flash media for testing to determine the best/falsest/most cost effective for use in a very large deployment of new systems. the Samsung Bar Plus line tested the best accross the board. i would recommend that strong consideration be given to the 128Gb version. the increased transfer speeds are well worth the few additional dollars. That being said, the 64Gb drives performed flawlessly and held up for the deployment.

The 128gb capacity was adequate for my needs. The design is nice and the metallic shell makes it feel durable. The eyelet for a key chain is nice. The read and write speeds are fine, but not great. The drive can also get hot to the touch under some prolonged use. I've had my drive for 2 years and it is still working for my use.

The transfer speeds are listed as 300MB/s, but I suspect it was actually much faster. I did try transferring some files and I blinked and it was done! I wish everything transferred as fast. The casing is lovely and has a hefty, solid feel to it. The casing has a hole on the opposite end from the USB which would work not only as a key ring, as the specs say but may be stuck on a ball chain as a necklace. I like that it is waterproof and temperature proof, no more worries if you accidentally leave it in the car. Shockproof is also another nice feature, no worries about it breaking when it slips out of your hands. And 128 gigabytes of space is lots of room for videos, photos, files or programs. I would definitely recommend this flash drive.

I just bought this drive since the price/gb was quite attractive. Upon receipt, I transferred about 140 gb of data from my Lenovo L380 SSD to the new flash drive. Oh, boy, the write speeds are so inconsistent - started at 50-60 MB/sec and dropped down to 1MB/sec, after about an hour and half and the drive was getting hot. I think read/write speed slows down significantly when the drive gets hot. I am not happy.....

The metal body is sleek and seems well built. The form looks great and doesn't get in the way of other drives. One issue is the write and read speeds are very slow. I've run many tests and I'm getting 25 mbs. The same as my USB 2 devices. It's a good price for a large amount of memory. Just don't trust their reported speeds. "Up to 300MB/s Data Transfer Speed" doesn't mean anything about normal write speeds.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I recently purchased a USB 3.1 flash drive from Samsung. The first thing I noticed when looking at the package was, wow this is tiny. The Flash drive is one of the smallest drives I've seen that contains 128GB. Just think about 128GB of data that can fit almost everywhere and able to access that data at just about SSD speeds. You can technically use this drive as a computer hard drive and boot from it, even install an operating system. The second thing I noticed when I received the package is the styling. It looks very premium, modern and solid. When transferring a large data file I noticed it copied over like this was an internal hard drive. Not all computers have USB 3.1 but it will work with 3.0 and 2.0 drives as well just not as fast. Overall I hope these flash drives get smaller, faster, larger, cheaper eventually you will be able to back up your entire existence into your pocket.

Use this as a second drive on a Chromebook Plus Gaming deck from Lenovo and it is a great addition. Small size looks more like a USB dongle than a 512 GB functional drive. It's a thumb drive that does what a thumb drive should and it's price is fair especially for the storage and form factor

But I chock this up to the no DRAM and the fact there was just so many pictures. This doesn't happen with NVME but it is not really fair to compare those protocols. I reallyyyy wanna upgrade to a few 990 nvme drives in my pc though 😂

Its what my roommate would say, "Hefty" like its heavily good. Yes its got some weight to it but it should since its made of metal. It lets you know that it can handle hard drops hence the shockproof. Its also a plus knowing that it is waterproof although i don't recommend it but I have my days where i accidentally put it through the washer. As a wanna be IT guru I recommend this flash drive. With speeds up to 200mb meaning it transfers and reads files really fast. How fast? 3GB 4K UHD video file from your Bar Plus to your PC in just 10 seconds, that fast. What i also like about this flash drive is it's simple, sleek design. It feels and looks luxury but you pay a reasonable price for its functionality and everything else is a huge bonus. Honestly, why you still reading this buy this flash drive and you want regret in getting it.

THEY ALL SURVIVED! Along with being incredibly durable, file transfers nice and speedy. I do a lot of old-school file sharing for my job and these have not let me down once.

this product worked great for a couple years, then one day the transfer rate got horrible, and the next time i plugged it in, it caused my computer to lock up due to endlessly trying to load the drive. the drive also began getting very hot when plugged in; good thing i had the files backed up elsewhere!

Died after 30-40 mins first use. I put about 80gb of files on the drive then it disconnected. I tried other ports and the TV. Nothing.it makes the connection noise but no drive shows up. If you leave it in, every few minutes it will connect and disconnect, but the drive still does not show up.

I was given a 128GB USB 3.1 Flash Drive BAR Plus (Black) as a gift recently. A colleague of mine borrowed it to do some file transfers. The files copied OK but when he plugged it in to the other computer it was not recognised. It does not work on any of my five computers. Very disappointed.

I know as I set-up my own home-thumbdrive(usb)speed test against 2 (other) well known media makers and I did so downloading a test-set # of files from my desktop (Windows 11) and then uploading the same test-set # of files back to windows file exployer. Using my recently received New Galaxy S25 Ultra 512Gb Unlocked from Samsung.com greatest online trade-in offer ever, using the stopwatch function from the Clock app my Samsung 128-Gb Flash or Thumb Drive.purchased online recently won out significantly in the download and upload tests against it's 2 toughest competitors. I couldn't have made a better purchase--apples to apples it was sale-priced and beat the same 2 competitors in the price tag test I performed in the store! Incidentally, I didn't cover this earlier but the other 2 competitors flash drives are also 128Gb in capacity and less than a month old--gifts from colleagues at my official retirement party at Atlas.

I’ve been using the Samsung BAR Plus (512GB) for a while now, and I couldn't be happier with it. As someone who is constantly moving files around for my work, I needed something that wasn't just fast, but actually tough enough to keep up with me. ​The first thing you notice is the build quality. It’s all-metal, feels really solid in your hand, and doesn't feel like it’s going to break if it gets tossed in a bag or dropped on the job site. The performance is just as solid—transfer speeds are impressively fast, which saves me a ton of time when I'm dealing with large batches of photos or project files. ​It’s small enough that it doesn’t get in the way, and the built-in keyring loop is a huge plus because I don’t have to worry about losing it. It does get a little warm during heavy transfers, but that’s expected with a metal drive that actually works this hard. ​If you want a flash drive that looks sharp and is built to last, this is definitely the one. It’s been rock-solid for me, and I’d buy it again in a heartbeat. Highly recommended!

This 128gb BarPlus usb 3.1 flash drive arrived today, and when I tried to migrate my win 10 OS onto it it was "unsuccessfull" (EaseUs system clone) and now cannot be recognised even by my PC bios (Uefi). Rugged outside; Fragile inside!.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received this last week as a gift and this a to die for product. I love the elegant design. The performance is great. It is easily detected by the PC when plugged in. This makes my life so much easier. It's worth the money.
