[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’ve been using the 85-inch Samsung Q8F QLED 4K TV in my main viewing area, and the screen size makes movies, sports, and regular streaming feel much more immersive. The picture is bright enough for daytime viewing, while darker scenes still show good contrast and detail. I’ve also been happy with the upscaling on older HD content, which looks cleaner on this larger screen than I expected. Navigation and app switching have been responsive so far. For a very large TV, setup and placement are worth planning in advance, but once installed it creates a great home-theater feel. I would recommend it to someone looking for a bright, big-screen QLED TV for a living room.

I have always bought Samsung TVs. This TV has these AWFUL VOICE PROMPTS. I hate them. I have not been able to turn them off. My daughter couldn’t turn them off. The menu shows a place to turn them off but it doesn’t work. Thi s is a terrible feature.

It is also VERY responsive.. Even though I use a firestick on mine. The TV alone is enough.. You don't even need a firestick, I just chose to keep it.. everything is set out for you, you can pick cool little pictures for backgrounds. It's a nice TV. It's loud when you want it to be and doesn't sound "rattly"..

Our first “smart” TV. Many good things to say about this upgrade. Our 7 year old Samsung was a super investment, opening up the world of HD TV. This experience took me back to Samsung after reviewing the competitive field. My only complaint has to do with the remote control. Ler me start by explaining with I left one star out the rating. I love the TV, and the picture is very high quality. I can't honestly review the "soundstage" as I bought a companion Samsung Sound Bar, which I am very happy with. My one star deduction is based on the remote and the confusion I face when I try to do the simplest of things. This may get better with time and more familiarity, but for now I am often frustrated with trying to find the choices I had made previously...especially if it's something from a different app. Until I get totally acclimated to this device, I have to say that the frustration of using that remote takes just a bit away from my total enjoyment.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this Samsung in December to replace an older set in our bedroom. The TV sits on a dresser and I watch it from the bed or from a chair - rotating it slightly for the chair viewing angle. That was a problem. As for the picture: beautiful, high quality. The operating system is reasonably easy and intuitive. The speaker is adequate, although there is an annoying sound lag, meaning you’ll lose an occasional word or two. My biggest complaint is the defective stand. It consists of 2 flimsy plastic feet that snap into place. Unfortunately, as I carefully rotated the set to appropriate viewing angles, one of the legs came unattached. I moved the set slightly, turned toward the chair, and heard a crashing sound behind me. The TV, one foot detached, was dangling toward the floor. It was irreparably damaged and had to be recycled. Bottom line: good picture, minor sound lag, dangerously defective base. Unless you plan to wall-mount this set, I’d look elsewhere.

The Samsung Q8F relies on Quantum Dot technology paired with dual-LED backlighting. This helps it deliver 100% color volume and exceptionally punchy, accurate colors. It is driven by the Q4 AI Gen1 Processor, which does an excellent job of upscaling lower-resolution content into sharp 4K. While it looks great in moderately lit environments and provides a clean, clear picture, its complete lack of local dimming is its main bottleneck. Without dimming zones, the TV cannot achieve the true deep blacks needed to make HDR content truly pop. Its peak brightness sits at roughly 360 nits. This means that while it handles reflections decently, it will struggle to combat extreme glare in exceptionally sunny rooms. The TV embraces Samsung's ultra-thin AirSlim design, coming in at roughly an inch thick with minimal bezels. It runs on the Tizen OS (One UI Tizen) platform. If I turn it on, a pre-selected program will start playing if I don’t select something else within a few seconds. And of course it’s something that is pay-per-view. The picture is pretty good. The sound has issues. It raises and lowers on its own which is really annoying. The remote needs frequent recharging because there's no window near the tv to put the remote by to recharge with the solar charger. Not what I expected from Samsung.

Love the picture quality and the menu navigation is really easy to find exactly what you are looking for. The remote however is lacking on controls for navigating the Samsung TV side of viewing, due to only being able to move channels up/down. Not directly inputting the exact channels.

Picture quality is good and does look like a picture frame when choosing art. Very slim and looks great against the wall. The software is the problem. It freezes and sometimes when moving in different directions on the remote it skips two or three times instead of just one. It’s also delayed at time when pressing buttons.
