The thinner, lighter design compared with other Fold devices makes for a more user friendly experience whilst still offering the front screen as a quick use tool and the larger fold screen as a small tablet all in one. Ive put a 360 case on it as i will drop it and this is still no thicker than the average phone in a case. Battery so far is more than i need for heavy daily use and the speed and response is exceptional. The fold mech is strong and durable, holds firmly closed until openeded and snaps closed when finished. Best Samsung phone to date.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have had the Fold 6 and thought moving to the Fold 7 was an evolution change, but moving to the Fold 8, wow! The size is perfect, it fits into your hand and looks right. Then you open it up and it transforms, pictures, video and books just fit the this screen ratio. The hinge works better than the Fold 7, opening easier and snaps open. The crease I have forgotten about. I didn't notice it on the Fold 7, but the screen is so much better. I never thought the Fold 7 was a slouch but the 8 seems so much more smoother and responsive. One UI 9 has some great improvements and the integration with the AI makes tasks and work flow so much easier.

I chose to get the regular fold 8 instead of the ultra after having used the fold 6 and 7 for years because the wider form factor seemed like a great change and it definitely is. It makes it so much easier to browse the web, scroll social media and read the news, but it's also much easier to type on. I have larger hands and can reach everything on the screen easily but the wider keyboard makes it so much easier to type and text. I also love that the inner screen doesn't have black bars for videos anymore. I love the form factor and will be sticking with it for the long term. Easily the best phone I have ever had.

I loved having a smaller phone, but I also used it for it's bending capability. I planned on getting the new Z flip 8 but when I saw this model I knew it was for me. It's smaller than average phones, and of course it unfolds to a much larger screen. I've missed having a phone that I could use without opening it. Today was the first full day of using it and I used the front screen to watch some videos and slightly opened the phone so it stood on its own. Absolutely loved it. I will now watch movies on the inside screen and i can't wait. This is such a smart move for Samsung!!!!

It's wonderfully compact when folded, but unfolding it into a mini tablet completely changes the experience. Videos look fantastic on the inner display, and the anti-reflective screen coating makes a massive difference for visibility. The upgraded faster charging is a welcome quality-of-life improvement, and the cameras are completely sufficient for everyday photos. Most of all, it brought back that genuine sense of excitement for mobile technology that smartphones have lacked for a long time.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I think Samsung nailed it with the Fold8, the size, the hinge mechanism, the screen viewing ration when folded and unfolded, it is impressive and once you get used to it you can't go back to normal phones. Battery capacity is huge and certainly lasts for a full day with constant usage, and the phone form factor is durable but worth investing in a rugged cased to protect such massive investment. Screen is bright and very responsive when folded and unfolded, really love watching videos on this phone, and more importantly choose the right case that support vertical kickstand (not just horizontal) to be sure you are most enjoying the screen view.

The whole thing is just a beautiful piece of tech - unbelievably thin and light for everything it can do. I chose this phone because Samsung showed up with the best foldable form factor! I use it to read emails and look at work documents at the same time, and nothing really compares when having that at the same time, all in your pocket. I'm a really busy grad student who also has a full time job, so when travelling, having a phone that can actually keep up is important. Not to mention -- you get to leave your mini tablet at home. If you like gaming and productivity, this is the phone.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is my third foldable phone. I used to own galaxy Z fold 2 and Z fold 5. Both were pretty good but this one feels and is even better. For me the size is perfect, you can use the entire phone with a single hand even when you are using it as tablet mode. I think the technology got pretty much improved for the foldable system, it feels smooth when you fold and unfold the phone. Although the cameras are not the ones as the ultra the photos are very good. Also you can see that the battery lasts longer as the previous foldable phones as well as my galaxy s25 ultra. So Big improvement there too. Definitely my best foldable phone so far.

When opened the screen is amazing! Watching Netflix and YouTube on this is seriously impressive. When I want to play games I open it up and now I have a tablet, it really blew my expectations out of the water. I really like that the finger print reader is in the power button it makes more sense to have it there. This phone is way louder than my s26 was. The compact size of this phone when closed should be the new standard, it just feels more natural. I dont see myself ever going back to a candy bar shaped phone ever again.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I originally was looking at the flip series and waiting for the flip 8 to come out however when I saw the z fold 8 I was sold. The features that sold me were being able to use the kindle app and having it look just like book as well as watching videos with the giant screen. My only reason for not giving 5 stars is I wish that the camera was the same as the Ultra series because not having the same camera quality I was used to from the 25 ultra was jarring and a big change. Other than that I am so glad I made the switch and I chose to go with the z fold 8 instead of the flip because the size and features are just overall very hard to beat.

I love the new design form, but videos of most social media apps, like Facebook, Instagram, Ticktock, YouTube, etc, are not formatted to fit the screen of this phone, legs and heads are half seen, regardless if it's titled horizontal or vertical. Samsung needs either to make some software adjustments or get in touch with the developers of the above apps so they can make the necessary changes, specially for the new screen format of this phone. Also it can definitely use larger battery., at least 6000 mAh, another important improvement is to get rid of the camera cutoff whole opening, especially in the inner display, it definitely causes problems.

I love being able to use the phone 2 different ways. Closed for when I wanna do something super quick and open for a much better social media scrolling experience. It's also the perfect size especially for someone with small hands. I also play some emulators on my phone and having it closed gives that Gameboy like handheld experience and using it open gives the DS experience. it's very classic with a modern twist. I am very happy with the purchase, I'm just sad that Samsung hasn't done a foldable this size sooner.

It's been 3 days and I'm loving all the tweaks and customization available in the new operating system I wish that the phone had different camera placement and included a telephoto lens. I miss the old version of the inner display's selfie camera. A tad intrusive and I don't see any use case. The speaker placement could also be better next iteration because it does not provide stereo sound when in landscape viewing on the inner screen. I wish it was $250 cheaper and I could say it was a good value, but it is a solid device.

Hello Samsung. Just wanted to thank y'all for these new Z FOLDS (8 & 8 ULTRA). Based on what i have seen and felt, if i may make ONLY 2 suggestions. PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, Make the z fold 9 with the same hinge as the z fold 8 ultra and give it the same camera 200mp. Other than that, I would have boughten the z fold 8 over the 8 ultra due to its size and functionality. I hope this reaches you well and have high hopes for the passport phone (z fold 8) next year. If you make this work....best bet, I WILL be upgrading to this phone for sure as this is what my wife and I really wanted until we found out the hinge, camera, & also battery life. Thanks.

The passport type shape is really appealing to me and its been a dream to consume content on. The device is very responsive and I havent had any kind of slowdowns at all, everything is instant and smooth. The battery life is really good too! I like the new si-c battery, it lasts ages and I havent had any issues with it at all- plus it keeps the device sleek and thin. The device itself feels very sturdy, it's well made and I have no concerns of it breaking. The hinge feels very snappy and premium and I havent had any issues with it at all.

The Display is fantastic and extremely clear. The Hinge in the fold is very strong but not to stiff and is easy to open. I have my Battery set to 80 percent but everyday use, it doesn't drop below 50 percent, which is miles better than my S24. This isn't a Flimsy phone, it's quite robust and feels very strong in your hand. Searching through apps, it's really quick and very responsive and you can have multiple pages and apps open at the same time. This is a great upgrade from my S24, glad I got one. You won't be disappointed 😉

I love the fact that the shorter slightly wider aspect ratio fits videos nearly perfectly even when folded. As an engineer myself I appreciate efficiency and the ergonomics combined with the aspect ratio is the best of all worlds. Whether it's scrolling on social media or watching a video it feels right. I've been switching back and forth between my old s24 ultra and this phone and the s24 ultra now feels too long. Definitely not for everyone but the fact that Samsung gives you the option is greatly appreciated. I do not see myself going back to a long slab phone.

It is the ultimate daily driver. I use my phone alot to watch movies, YouTube videos, and for reading. Reading on this phone is so comfortable on both the inner and outer displays. I find that in using the inner display alot more than I did on my previous fold because the new dimensions make it feel so much better in my small hands Also, the phone is just beautiful. The overall design, weight, in-hand feel, and ergonomics are fantastic. Both the cover display and the unfolded main screen look amazing and offer an incredible viewing experience. ​If I had to point out a few minor drawbacks, the placement of the heat dissipation feels a bit noticeable during heavy use, and I occasionally experience slight stuttering on a few specific apps. The Z Fold 8 is the perfect marriage of the two, and I chose it to replace my everyday use of the Flip. Within the first day, it became clear I wasn't going back to the Flip, which surprised me. I rarely used the cover screen on the Flip, although I had all the tools to do so. With the Fold 8, I use the front screen a lot and don't feel the need to open it every time I use it. The screen quality was amazing and I was surprised by how long the battery lasted. I ended up returning it due to being worried of damaging it and being slightly paranoid about it not being dust resistant or having the inner screen get damaged accidentally. I say its almost there because it is "almost there." The phone is great but not having the best cameras is a big fault in a 1800 dollar phone. None the less I'm sure it will be a great phone for most people. The chose the Ultra 26 as a replacement and am more than happy!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The new Fold 8 (wide) is a great new phone in regards to the external screen and internal folding screen. My only negative thought is no 200 megapixel main sensor and no telephoto lens, very disappointing on such a high end phone with such a high cost. As you will learn due to the Fold 8's high volume of sales, many people like larger phones but not necessarily folding ones. I suggest Samsung consider making a larger nonfolding phone, similar to the width of the Fold 8's external screen but also taller. Bring back the old Samsung Mega branding or call it the Samsung Titan. Again, their is a large market for larger phones especially in this day and age.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I never wanted a foldable due to the ratio. I chose fold 8 because of its ratio. Used blackberry passport before so it feels natural to me. Pros Ratio. You don't need to rotate the phone to watch something. Reading Manga or books is also great. With a proper app you can even have a flip animation to feel more like physical book. Barely noticeable crease. You don't really see it unless you try to look for it. Side button fingerprint works so much better than in screen one like s25 ultra. Cons Speakers are weak and could be positioned better. I would recommend this to someone who consumes a lot of media and books.

The only drawback for me is the camera compared to the Ultra, but honestly, it’s not too much of a sacrifice considering everything else the Fold offers!

Although I love these phones, they always seemed to be a little too narrow and a little too tall. When I saw the Z Fold 8, I knew this was the form factor I had been waiting for, so I chose to trade in my Z Fold 7 and get the Z Fold 8. Now that I have been using it over the past week, I know I made the right choice! This phone is fantastic! It fits perfectly in my hand and the aspect ratios of the outside and inside screens are perfect for media participation consumption. Bravo to Samsung for always thinking outside the box when it comes to their new phones!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] First off I chose this phone to replace a Fold 5. I do like this form factor. I mainly use this for day to day browsing, media, and light gaming. For me it was a good upgrade from the 5. But there are some deficiencies. The speakers are a glaring issue for me, they sound significantly worse than the 5. It is really thin and too lightweight. Without a good case that adds weight and grip it is difficult to hold on to. It does have a very snappy processor and apps respond well. Video on the inner display is were this phone shines. Crease is barely noticeable. I would recommend this phone for both new to foldables and returning users.

I ended up returning the Razr for software alone. One UI is incredible and the Z Fold 8 is like having 3 devices in one. I rarely take photos but it's strange Samsung purposely set up a gen 2 with upgraded cameras. Keep us loyal at the onset! This device is amazingly light, strong, last long, has amazing screens, so easy and fun to use. Finally a phone is fun again! I got so sick and bored of the slabs and remote style. This for. Factor is perfect! Love it. So glad I chose to try this out, keeping it until gen 2.

I charged it over night and by the end of the day it was 60 percent absolutely chuffed. Flawless display and responsive ,and im blown away by the simplicity of data transference. Since the first flip samsung has really progressed with the hinge movement . You cnt the see middle hinge on the display ,the protective screen use to come after a year but with last flip it did not happen .Durability has come a long away. No chipping, bending scratches. However, in the end I opted for the Z Fold 8 because the form factor felt different. I am obsessed with how good this phone is to use just with the external screen and use that easily 80% but possibly 90% of the time. The battery is currently lasting me 2 days which is outstanding for such a small form factor. The foldable screen once opened is then truly something special. The phone is brilliantly responsive between screens and feels seamless. The camera is really only average when trying to zoom, but for normal photos of subjects nearby is perfectly acceptable.

I've wanted a folding phone for a long time, but the crease in the middle and their size put me off. With the Fold 8, that changed. The passport size of the device and titanium inner screen are just amazing! The clarity of both the outer and inner screens are amazing! Video, text and artwork are equally vivid and easy on the eyes. Magazines, graphic novels, and online content fit perfectly into the inner screen. I haven't been this impressed with a phone since the S23 Ultra cameras. I would recommend the Z Fold 8 to anyone wanting an amazing device that is a pleasure to use for pretty any reason.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am a long time Samsung Z Galaxy product user and I chose the new Fold 8 because of the form factor. The phone is the exact size of a Travel passport albeit a few mm thicker. I can hold the phone in my back pocket without it sticking out. I like that I can do most of my tasks using the apps on the cover screen because of the larger size. The rest of the phone features are what Samsung is known for. As for any negatives, I have owned previous Samsung Galaxy Z Flip and Fold phones versions and have had cover screen and screen issues. Hopefully Samsung has figured out to avoid the problem in it's 8th version of the phones.

I hadn't realized the change in the name and accidentally ordered the 8 instead of the 8 ultra. I previously owned a fold 6 so I decided to trade it in for an upgrade (biggest mistake and a different story). Back to this phone. I ABSOLUTELY HATED IT! The width is uncomfortable when holding it in the closed position. The batter drains far faster than the last series. The display quality was good but it seemed to lag and become unresponsive which caused me to have to close out. I'm not sure about durability because after a week or so I decided to return it. Which started the mess I'm in now. And yes I'm still waiting on a resolution since 8/28 and today is 9/10.

I had the Flip's, from the Flip2 to the Flip5, because I missed having a compact phone, but the Fold (now "Fold Ultra") was always glaring at me in the distance, judging like a Shiba Inu, as if saying "You'll never get this! You'll never get this! La-la-la" but it was just too large and heavy. Fast forward to the Fold8, the perfect "happy medium," that "just right" bowl of porridge that I couldn't pass up, and... Wow! Mate, they finally nailed the design. Previous foldables always felt like carrying a heavy, chunky brick, but this thing is crazy light and slim. When it’s shut, the front screen doesn't feel like a skinny remote control anymore—you can actually type properly on it with one hand without hitting the wrong letters every two seconds. Then you open it up, and the inside screen is wider, so YouTube and Netflix don't have massive black bars, and reading web pages just feels right. It looks super slick in person, charges noticeably faster when you're in a rush, and easily slips into normal pockets without dragging your pants down.

The new size and aspect ratio is huge game changer. Swapping from the standard candybar style phone to this was interesting, but we'll worth it. The fact that the whole phone can fit in my hand while closed is one of my favorite things and if I need a larger screen, it's just one fold away. The 4:3 aspect ratio of the inside screen is great for videos and even playing games, especially rhythm games! The battery seems to last pretty much as long as the S26U I traded in, so that's great. Some apps need to be updated by their developers, but overall, most apps operate perfectly on this phone. 10/10 would love to see what else Samsung could improve on this phone.

I am very happy with the form factor. I am coming from a Fold 6 which I found to be too narrow when folded. The added width makes it easier for me to type on the keyboard. The shorter height makes it easy to reach the top and bottom of the screen when folded. There is less wasted space when watching videos unfolded. I think my ideal phone would be this form factor with better cameras. I am noticing some third party apps not accommodating the screen resolution properly but assume things will improve over time. The battery so far seems good. It is lasting longer than my Fold 6 probably due to a combination of larger battery size and degradation in my old phone.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I'm pretty happy with my new Samsung Galaxy Fold 8. I didn't mind the price as it's a birthday gift to myself. I like that it doesn't look like any other phone. I especially like the wide screen when watching videos and looking at photos. The screen is also very responsive. When it comes to the camera though, it doesn't have the zoom capabilities of my previous Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra. When I tried the zoom, the screen looked shaky and faces in the photo were very undefined. On the other hand, without the zoom, photos and videos look great. Now I need to find out how to use my phone in concerts.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I'm really enjoying the new Z Fold 8! The new shape brings comfortability and compact together into one device! I'm happy I chose to wait on upgrading until this device came out! The experience I've had consuming media on this has been great, where short form videos are the focus on the main screen, and whole TV shows or movies are enjoyable on the large inner screen. One thing I miss between the Z Fold 8 and my old Z Flip 7... flex mode! It was so convenient to prop my phone open to watch something, read a recipe while cooking, etc. I didn't want a big phone like the Z Fold 8 Ultra, so I'm missing out on that key feature.
