What is the difference between the Galaxy Z Flip models?
The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip Series combines compact foldable design with flagship performance, advanced cameras and Galaxy AI. The latest Z Flip is the Galaxy Z Flip8 and its predecessors include the Z Flip7, Z Flip6 and Z Flip5. While these models share many core experiences, there are differences in display size, battery, camera hardware, durability, Galaxy AI and productivity features.

How durable is the screen?
Samsung has improved durability across the Galaxy Z Flip Series with stronger materials and refinements to the folding design. The Galaxy Z Flip8 features an Advanced Armour Aluminium Frame Corning® Gorilla® Glass Victus® 2 protection and builds on the durability improvements we’ve worked on in previous generations. All models are designed for everyday use while maintaining the flexibility of a foldable display.
Is the crease less noticeable?
Each generation of the Galaxy Z Flip has introduced refinements to the folding design to improve the overall viewing experience. The Galaxy Z Flip8 features Samsung's new curved design, making it easier to open than our previous models. It’s built with our strongest metal yet, and has the latest foldable design, helping deliver a smoother appearance when the device is opened. Individual perception of the crease may vary depending on viewing angle and lighting conditions.
Are the displays different?
Yes. The Galaxy Z Flip8 and Z Flip7 feature the largest displays in the Galaxy Z Flip range, with a 6.9 inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X main display. The Z Flip6 and Z Flip5 both feature a 6.7 inch main display.
How does the cover screen compare?
The cover screen has grown significantly across Galaxy Z Flip generations. The Galaxy Z Flip8 and Z Flip7 feature a 4.1 inch Super AMOLED cover screen, compared with 3.4 inches on the Z Flip6 and Z Flip5. The larger cover screen provides more space for widgets, notifications and quick access to supported apps without opening the device.
Do all models support Galaxy AI features?
Galaxy AI features vary between Galaxy Z Flip models. The Galaxy Z Flip8 offers the most comprehensive Galaxy AI experience, including features such as Now Brief, Seamless Actions Across Apps, Audio Eraser, In app search (Bixby) and Portrait Studio and more.
Has the battery life improved?
Yes. Battery capacity has increased over successive Galaxy Z Flip generations. The Galaxy Z Flip8 and Z Flip7 features a 4,300 mAh battery compared with a 4,000 mAh on the Galaxy Z Flip6 and 3,700 mAh on the Galaxy Z Flip5. Combined with processor and software improvements, newer Galaxy Z Flip models are designed to deliver longer battery life for everyday use.
